Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership in driving e-business innovation in border areas. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection involved informants who are business owners in Bengkayang Sub-district, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan. There were six informants representing clusters in culinary, agriculture, convection, and services sectors. The findings indicate that transformational leadership, characterized by a clear vision, encouragement of innovation, and empowerment of HR, plays a crucial role in inspiring the adoption of digital technology. Transformational leaders function as change agents who create a conducive environment for creativity and digital collaboration. This study contributes strategies for implementing e-business initiatives in border regions by leveraging transformational leadership styles. Policy recommendations include the development of digital leadership capacities and technology literacy programs to accelerate the transformation of e-business in border areas.
